Auver is an architecture and design studio devoted to the thoughtful exploration of space, material, and detail for the purpose of creating meaningful and authentic architecture. Based in New York City with a strong presence in the Hudson Valley, Auver has completed projects throughout the country at multiple scales, including buildings, interiors, and furniture.
Auver is an award-winning design-focused firm with a background in a variety of building typologies. The studio rigorously invests in understanding the local site, context, and culture of each project in order to ensure the work is responsive and rooted in its place. Regardless of scale or budget, each project is approached with a meticulous attention to detail.
Auver believes in the creation of lasting and permanent structures for the benefit of clients, communities, and the environment. A major focus of our vision is establishing strong, immersive connections to the landscape, both through the arrangement of indoor and outdoor spaces, as well as the prevalent use of natural building materials. Because each solution is highly tailored to the particular site and client, there is no single aesthetic thread through the work; it may instead be most accurately summarized as thoughtful and responsive.
Auver was founded in 2019 by Aron Himmelfarb and has grown steadily through the successful completion of its diverse body of work. Aron is instrumental in leading the design vision of the firm, and remains heavily involved in all projects from conception through construction. Prior to founding Auver, Aron worked for Richard Meier & Partners and Allied Works Architecture. Most recently he served as the Design Director of the office of Thomas Juul-Hansen. A registered architect in New York state and a member of the American Institute of Architects, Aron is a graduate of Cornell University where he was awarded the William S. Downing Prize for the top architectural thesis.
