Hudson Valley House
This 9,000 SF residence overlooking the Hudson River valley is comprised of three gabled volumes, which are organized around the approach sequence and the gradual unveiling of the sweeping views beyond. Inspired by the local vernacular and built with traditional heavy timber post-and-beam construction, the house is nestled into the hillside with extensive stacked stone terracing, referencing the foundations of local historic barns. The house is clad entirely with un-treated white cedar, which is intended to naturally weather over time.
