Sited on a hillside overlooking San Diego Bay, the Point Loma House is arranged around a central water-filled courtyard which spatially links the arrival sequence and the upper level, where the main living areas are located. The house prioritizes privacy from the street with a solid front facade, and panaoramic views of the Bay from a continuous terrace running the length of the house on the upper level. Several outdoor patios are connected by the sound and path of the courtyard’s running water, which negotiate multiple levels to connect the the interior to the steeply sloping site.
